The Wallich is ‘Highly Commended’ at UK Third Sector Awards for 2nd Year Running

The Wallich is delighted to announce that we won a Highly Commended prize at the UK wide Third Sector Excellence Awards. We are very pleased to have been recognised in these prestigious national awards.
Now in their eighth year, the Third Sector Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding work and innovation that takes place in charities and not-for-profit organisations. They aim to reward the work of both large and small organisations and the individual talents of staff and volunteers.
The Wallich was shortlisted in 2 categories – Best Annual Report, and Best Use of Digital Media – both for the 140 Voices Project. We faced competition from the likes of the British Heart Foundation, NSPCC and Diabetes UK and felt very privileged to be amongst such esteemed company.
Our website www.140voices.com was set up to encourage our clients and service users to, anonymously if they wish, tell people what it is actually like to be homeless. They were enabled via computer and paper postcard to contribute 140 character opinions in a variety of categories over the course of a two month countdown. Their views built the website, which then became our annual report.
